複雑な乙女心をズケズケな言葉遣いで言ってのけ、リリー・アレンと共に一躍時の人となったケイト。前作ではリズミックに踊るピアノに乗せて、D.I.Y.感溢れる小宇宙を描いてみせたが、ギターで曲作りに挑んだという本作では、まるで飛び出す絵本のように雄大なパノラマシーンの連続へとスケールアップを果たしている。背景を描いたのは、ダフィーで女性ヴォーカル作品にも鮮やかな手腕を発揮したバーナード・バトラー氏。レトロなガールズ・グループ風からインディー・ポップにフォーク、オルタナに至るまで、ウィットと捻りの応酬で彼女の空想物語の断片を華麗でドラマチックな大劇場絵巻へと変換した。しかも、そのセンターに堂々と立ち、牛耳っているのはケイト嬢。恐るべき傑作！
