AAO Music/United Audio Entertainment’s two-disc Top Musicians Play Led Zeppelin collection features an impressive cast of characters, including Joe Lynn Turner, John Wetton, Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Dweezil Zappa, and Paul Di'Anno, to name a few, reinterpreting the "Zep" catalog. While the idea is hardly an original one, and the back jacket gives no indication as to who’s playing on what, the performances are spirited enough to warrant a spin or two, but the overall effect feels more like a solid Saturday night cover band going through the motions than it does a veteran hard rock supergroup paying homage to its heroes. ~ James Christopher Monger|
