For the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers, Kamen re-visits much of the same territory he explored with fellow sepia-tone junkie Roger Waters on Pink Floyd's The Wall and The Final Cut. 「バンド・オブ・ブラザーズ」ＴＶシリーズ・サウンドトラック音楽　マイケル・ケイメントム・ハンクスや、デヴィッド・フランケル（「セックス・アンド・シティ」や「フロム・アース・トゥ・ザ・ムーン」などのエピソードも監督した）やフィル・アルデン・ロビンソン（「フィールド・オブ・ドリームス」）らが監督した、２００１年アメリカＨＢＯテレビ・ミニ・シリーズのサントラ。製作総指揮スティーヴン・スピルバーグ、製作もトム・ハンクスは兼ねるということで、まさにＴＶ版「もうひとつのプライベート・ライアン」ともいえる戦争ドラマ。音楽はスピルバーグ系での登板は珍しいマイケル・ケイメン。映画ではなかなか見せない表情豊かな感動の演出と、心に響くメロディを美しく奏で、まさにレクイエムなサントラに仕上げている。ヴォーカル・パフォーマンスにモイア・ブレナンも参加したラスト・ナンバーは鳥肌モノの美しさで必聴。美しい感動の本格派スコア系ファンに人気の盤です。 (C)馬場敏裕
