'Life Is Sweet Nice To Meet You' is the second studio album from quirky singer/songwriter Lightspeed Champion. Produced by Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Gnarls Barkley), this is a stronger and more confident album than it's 2008 predecessor, 'Falling Off Lavender Bridge'. An intriguing and more epic sounding record, it cleverly combines wry and sometimes humorous lyrics with bolder sounds. Eclectically zipping across influences as diverse as American country, classical, 70s glam and sci-fi synths, this is his most captivating album to date. Includes the single 'Marlene'.

2008年にデビュー・アルバムをリリースし、話題となったライトスピード・チャンピオン、待望のセカンド・アルバム！12曲のポップ・ソングに2つのインストゥルメンタル、そしてピアノのエチュード1曲により構成されている本作。彼が得意とするアメリカン・カントリー調のサウンドを中心に構成されたファースト・アルバム『フォーリング・オフ・ザ・ラベンダー・ブリッジ』に比べ、今回はクラシック、そして時には舞台音楽を取り入れる等、バラエティーに富んだサウンドに仕上がっている。アニマル・コレクティヴやナールズ・バークレイを手掛けたベン・アレンもプロデュースとミキシングに参加。70年代のギターやシンセ・サウンドを加え、よりエクレクティック感を出した作品となった。限定盤（2CD）にはニューヨークのAvatar Studiosでライヴ・レコーディングされた5曲を収録。チャンプ流ELVISのカバー曲『Devil In Disguise』は圧巻！

線香花火のようにあっけなく燃え尽きた ネオ・レイヴ・バンド、テスト・アイシクルズを経て、ライトスピード・チャンピオン名義でソロ・デビューしたデヴ・ハインズ。デビュー作ではUSはオマハのインディー人脈とコラボし、突然名ソングライターぶりを発揮してリスナーを驚かせたかと思えば、インタヴューではチャートを賑わすポップソングの優れた点について熱弁を振るったりと、かねてから幅広い音楽趣味を隠さず披露していた。そんな彼がこの2作目でめざしたのは、〈クラシカルで70'sでフランスっぽい音楽〉だ。ストリングスやキーボードをふんだんに使い、前作とはまたガラリと違う音を提示した。従来の人懐っこい歌心は健在だが、興味のあることなら節操なくやってのける彼らしさが微笑ましい。
