Owen Pallett a.k.a. Final Fantasy voluntarily retired his Final Fantasy moniker for his third solo studio album 'Heartland'. In a bid to distinguish himself from the legendary computer game Final Fantasy, 'Heartland' will be the first to be released under his real name. The Canadian composer and violinist has toured and collaborated with Beirut and Arcade Fire releases this album through Domino Records.

インディー・ロックの最後の大物、オーウェイ･パレット…たった一人でヴォーカル、ストリングス、エレクトロニクスを操る天才がサード・アルバム『ハートランド』で遂に日本デビュー！アークティック・モンキーズのフロントマン、アレックス・ターナーのプロジェクト“ザ・ラスト・シャドウ・パペッツ”の傑作アルバム『ジ・エイジ・オブ・ジ・アンダーステイトメント』の完璧なストリングスを手掛けていることでも知られる。またミーカのアルバムでバイオリンで参加、ペット・ショップ・ボーイズのアルバムでもオーケストラを担当するなど、各所でその才能を発揮している。壮大でパノラマ的な広がりを見せる本作は、9ヵ月かけビョークの『メダラ』が制作されたアイスランドのグリーンハウス・スタジオでレコーディングされた。ゲストにアーケイド・ファイアのドラマーのジェレミー・ギャラ、アニマル・コレクティヴ、パンダ・ベア作品で有名なラスティー・サントスがミキサーとして参加。
