ソル、ジェラールとロドリーゴ、このスペイン生まれの3人の作曲家による歌曲集。ジェラールはカタロニア出身。ウィーンとベルリンでシェーンベルクに師事、一旦はスペインに戻るも、その後イギリスに移住、亡くなるまでこの地を離れることはありませんでした。民族音楽を取り入れた彼の「カンタレス」は現代的な雰囲気を持ちながらも、熱い心情を反映させています。ソルとロドリーゴの歌曲はギターの持ち味を存分に生かしたもの。郷愁溢れる雰囲気が心に迫る美しい歌曲です。ジョン・タヴァナーやマクミランなどの現代声楽曲を得意とするソプラノ、パトリシア・ロザリオが強烈な存在感を持つ歌唱を聴かせています。 (C)RS
