ヴィルデ・フラング（Vilde Frang）：1986年ノルウェー生まれ、オスロで音楽を始めハンブルクの高等音楽院でコリア・ブラッハーに師事。間もなくクロンベルク・アカデミーでアナ・チュマチェンコに師事、アンネ＝ゾフィ・ムター基金のスカラシップを獲得。10歳でノルウェーでデビューして後、ヤンソンスの注目がきっかけとなって国際的に活躍を始めスカンディナヴィア、英国、ドイツ、オーストリア、スイス、バルト諸国、US、シンガポール、台湾のオーケストラと共演。音楽祭にも参加し、シャンベリのベル・エア・フェスではアルゲリッチ、カプソン兄弟、クレーメル、バシュメット、ヴェンゲーロフと共演。2008年、スカンディナヴィア、2009年USのツアーでは、ムターとバッハの二重協奏曲で共演。2008年11月にはMats Ek.の新作バレエ「レティカ」でオケ・ピット内でブラームスのヴァイオリン協奏曲を弾くという珍しい試みにも参加（王立スウェーデン・バレエ）。今、世界が大いなる関心を寄せる、ヴィルデ・フラングにご注目下さい。 ［コメント提供；EMI ミュージック・ジャパン］

Norwegian-born violinist Vilde Frang makes her solo recording debut with Prokofiev's first Violin Concerto and Sibelius' Violin Concerto, plus three of the Finnish composer's Humoresques for violin and piano. With her sweet tone, fluent technique, and soulful interpretations, Frang's performances can stand comparison to many of the great recorded performances of the past. She digs in deep in Sibelius' outer movements and dispatches their manifold difficulties with apparent ease. Better yet is her ardent account of the central Adagio di molto, which sings with tremendous passion. Best of all is her open-hearted reading of Prokofiev's concerto, particularly her ineffably moving take on the final bars of its closing Moderato. Ably accompanied by conductor Thomas Sondergard leading the WDR Sinfonieorchester Koln, Frang's recording should be heard by anyone who treasures these pieces or enjoys hearing fresh performances of works from the standard repertoire. Frang's playing of Sibelius' rarely recorded three Humoresques is a pure delight.
