It's Been Too Long...The Greatest Hits and More features 22 (amiable to the point of disturbing) cuts from the Australian collective who just wanted to "teach the world to sing" (or buy them a Coke). Cultish notions of glazed-eyed "Flower Power" aside, the New Seekers had a real gift for simple, engaging melodies, and this collection features a large majority of songs from the group's Polydor and CBS heydays, including "Look What They've Done to My Song Ma," Harry Chapin's "Circles," the Who's "Pinball Wizard/See Me Feel Me" and the aforementioned "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony)." That said, a handful of tracks from later incarnations of the group fail to capture the warm naivete of their '60s and '70s offerings, resulting in a solid collection of harmonious and easy folk-pop that could be about 20 minutes shorter than it is. ~ James Christopher Monger
