Contigo Andrea is a Latin pop outfit operating in the guise of a small rock trio. While their romantic pop sound harks back to Air Supply or America, there is also something rugged and durable about the insistent acoustic strumming and earnest vocals of Gustavo Herrera. Note the reference to an Anglo pop model, however. Though Contigo Andrea obviously sing in Spanish, there is nothing else particularly "Latin" about their strikingly lush, natural sound on their 2009 debut, MAS ALLA. In that sense they are highly commercial kin to alt-Latin artists like Aterciopelados and Julieta Venegas, and poised to break out of the Latin artist ghetto sooner rather than later.
