This is a decent-if by no means complete-14-track hits collection by the original Black Sabbath (Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward) from the debut album through NEVER SAY DIE. While hits like "War Pigs," "Iron Man," "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath," and "Sweet Leaf," are here, it is inexplicable how they managed to leave off "Supernaut," from VOLUME IV! But the price is right, the sound is decent and there is enough Sabbath here to rock the house or your car. (And it also makes a great introductory primer for your kids!)

This collection brings together some of the meatiest chunks from the wide-ranging career of Brummie heavy metal legends Black Sabbath. The inimitable combination of Ozzy Osbourne's wiry, demented vocal deliveries and Tony Iommi's slab-like riffing (the result, partly, of his loss of a finger in an engineering accident) combined to chart-topping effect on the band's iconic single 'Paranoid', but they became notable for a much more epic style. Monumental songs like 'War Pigs' and the colossal 'Iron Man' are considered classics of the genre, and inspired a whole generation in the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal.|
