Icons is a 32-track compilation of the Commodores' Lionel Richie-era highlights and Richie's solo hits. Issued in Brazil on compact disc and as a digital download through Universal, it's weighted a little more toward Richie solo, with most of the expected songs present, including "You Are," "Truly," "All Night Long," "Ballerina Girl," and "Dancing on the Ceiling." As for the Commodores material, most of the essential 1974-1981 stuff is here, such as the hits "Too Hot ta Trot," "Brick House," "Easy," and "Lady (You Bring Me Up)." "Machine Gun" is also included, even though it is an instrumental and wasn't even written by Richie. ~ Andy Kellman|
