Though their first album was released way back in 1984, Houston speed metal veterans Helstar have plenty of fight left in them. With their classic lineup largely back in place and renewed interest in their style, the scene is set for THE KING OF HELL. About as perfect an example of wailing, crashing, and hell-kissed power metal as you'll find, the album is almost frozen in time. Singer James Rivera's seasoned howl recalls Rob Halford and Joey Belladonna, among other titans, and the blazing guitars and hammering drums mean business. It's no reinvention of the wheel, just a reclamation of the throne.
