On 2007's Bone Palace Ballet, its second outing for the Equal Vision label, the adventurous emo rock act Chiodos offers up an ambitious metal-tinged album. As always, the Michigan band presents a set of oddly named tunes ("I Didn't Say I Was Powerful, I Said I Was a Wizard"), but this time the group's arrangements are even more dynamic and dramatic, as on the dark, Wagnerian opener "Is It Progression If a Cannibal Uses a Fork?" which showcases frontman Craig Owens' expressive vocals.
