『ユーズ・ユア・イリュージョン』（1991）以来実に17年ぶりとなる、ガンズ・アンド・ローゼスのスタジオ･オリジナル･アルバムが登場！これぞ全ロック・ファン待望のアルバム！製作期間14年、総制作費14億円等、超特大スケールの制作状況は流れるものの、長らく正式リリースの実現しなかった『チャイニーズ・デモクラシー』。アクセル・ローズとCaram Costanzo（Matthew Sweet, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilotsなど)がプロデュースを担当。クイーンのブライアン・メイが参加、「大好きな曲だ。ヴォーカルが素晴らしい！」と語った「Catcher N’ The Rye」、ラッセル・クロウ／レオナルド・ディカプリオ主演の映画『ワールド・オブ・ライズ』に使用される「If The World」も収録。サウンドはかつてのGN'Rをベースにしつつも更なる進化を遂げている。クラシックであり時代を超越したアルバムだ。
