The elder Finn brother has made several albums in between his stints with Split Enz and Crowded House, and this 2008 release is brimming with the kind of delicately melodic folk-pop that defines his solo craft. As the title suggests, this is a conversation between Tim Finn's heart and his fans' and like all the best conversations it is punctuated by companionable silences; atmospheric slide guitars and cavernous reverb create a sense of space, as Finn's vulnerable, unfancy singing draws listeners in. Standouts include the haunting "Straw to Gold" and the instantly memorable "Rear View Mirror."
