Arranger: George Martin. Rare, Vol. 1 was both a critical and commercial success for Ultravox, especially in England and Europe. So, Vol. 2 was prepared and released to capitalize on the sales and to finish the story. This CD picks up where Rare, Vol. 1 finished, collecting B-sides and rare mixes from 1984-1986. However, this CD covers the last two albums produced by this lineup, and by the time they recorded U-Vox, Warren Cann had left the band. The true highlights come from the Lament session B-sides, such as the beautiful "Easterly" and the eerie "Building," both instrumentals. This CD should be of interest to completists, who will find some gems here that would otherwise be lost on unavailable B-sides. ~ Aaron Badgley
