Their vocalist David DeFeis has a genuinely first-rate voice, singing with range as well as with passion. And while not exactly progressive, the manner in which Virgin Steele deploy keyboards provide a genuine touch of class (occasionally recalling Jon Lord's work with Deep Purple circa 1970-74).
