Produced by Saul Williams collaborator Thavius Beck, this second LP from Massachusetts-based hip-hop artist K-The-I takes his hyper-literate style to more adventurous heights. While his lyrics are often manically intricate, the messages are relatively simple and peace-loving, not too dissimilar to those of early De La Soul recordings. Musically, however, the intricacy remains, and the majority of 'Yesterday Today And Tomorrow' operates in a much more dance-orientated sphere than many of his contemporaries. An impressive alternative to more chest-beating examples of the genre.|
