Car Alarm

1993年のデビュー以来、アメリカのレーベル「Thrill Jockey」の看板アーティストの一つとして良質なロックをリリースしているザ・シー・アンド・ケイク。2007年の『Every Body』に続き、新作をリリース！　リーダーのサム・プレコップ曰く、「これぞロックALBUM」という『Every Body』はロック・シーンにおいて非常に高い評価を受けました。そのALBUMから約1年、前作以上のクオリティでお届けする至極のロックALBUMに仕上がっています。

シカゴ音響派の重鎮が1年5か月ぶりに放つ通算8枚目のニュー・アルバムは、ロック色濃厚だった前作『Everybody』同様、直球勝負のバンド・サウンドを基軸としたもの。だが、トリッキーなビートやスティールパンによる音飾など、キレの良い変化球を不意に投げ込んでくるあたりに一筋縄ではいかない魅力を感じる。従来のラウンジーな雰囲気を残しつつも、進化することを厭わない姿勢はやはり凄い。
