Though it wasn't Eddy Grant's most commercially successful album (that would be the 1982 blockbuster KILLER ON THE RAMPAGE), 1979's WALKING ON SUNSHINE may be this multi-talented artist's finest full-length. Grant plays every instrument on this album, and his single-minded intensity gives it a laser-like sense of focus and self-confidence. The title track was a major club hit upon release but every track here, from the seething roots reggae of "Living on the Front Line" to the buoyant tribute to Grant's homeland, "Dancing in Guyana," is worthy of attention.
