An excellent two-fer from the archival reissue label Water Music, TWENTY TERRIFIC TWANGIES/WATER SKIING combines two long out of print albums by twangy guitar legend Duane Eddy. TWENTY TERRIFIC TWANGIES is, as the title suggests, a compilation of Eddy's biggest singles, including vocal tracks like the Lee Hazlewood-penned "Boss Guitar" and canonical instrumentals like his signature song, "Rebel Rouser". WATER SKIING (1964) is an odd but highly enjoyable attempt to extend the surf rock lineage to other sports, much like Jan and Dean's records about skateboarding, with its 12 songs named after various arcane aspects of the sport.|
