Since the beginning of the 21st century, Mirah has been perfecting her quirky, homemade, lo-fi indie-folk, but her spontaneity and eccentricity have remained hallmarks of her sound. It's not too surprising, then, that the odds-and-ends/rarities collection THE OLD DAYS FEELING should be full of light-hearted bemusement and offhand moments of casual grace. Many of the tracks here are bare-bones affairs that focus on Mirah's wispy, waif-like voice (which proves to be an instrument capable of a suprising degree of communication) and back-porch acoustic picking. Even when the arrangements become a bit more ambitious, they retain that organic, ramshackle vibe that gives THE OLD DAYS FEELING its warm glow.
