Looking back to classic post-bop, Clarke, Corea, and White are joined by the hard-bop veterans Freddie Hubbard (trumpet) and Joe Henderson (tenor saxophone) for an acoustic session that edges closer to the sound of Miles Davis's classic quintet dates than anything post-BITCHES BREW. Corea, White, Clarke, and Hubbard all contribute original compositions on this thoroughly enjoyable return to modern jazz territory.
