Personnel: Joe Knapp (vocals, whistling, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, 12-string guitar, classical guitar, strings, piano, Fender Rhodes piano, Mellotron, synthesizer, glockenspiel, electric bass, drums, snare drum, cuica, cymbals, wood block, hand claps); Daniel Knapp (vocals, piano, Fender Rhodes piano); Kianna Alarid, Derek Pressnall (vocals, background vocals); Neal Knapp, Neely Jenkins (vocals); A.J. Mogis (electric guitar, electric bass, background vocals); Jacob Thiele (synthesizer). Audio Mixer: A.J. Mogis. Recording information: Arc Studios (12/2007). Unknown Contributor Role: Joe Knapp. A key act on Omaha, Nebraska's Saddle Creek label, Son, Ambulance (aka singer/songwriter Joseph Knapp) presents another set of wistful indie-pop on 2008's SOMEONE ELSE'S DEJA VU. With his quiet, half-asleep voice and fittingly laid-back arrangements, Knapp is a master of the gently melancholy mood, as best heard on the dreamy "Legend of Lizeth" and the delicate "Yesterday Morning."

제품 소개

Spin (p.111) - 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "[T]owering highlight 'Legend of Lizeth' is updated Lindsey Buckingham circa TUSK tinged with ANIMALS-era Pink Floyd..." Alternative Press (p.162) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "There's a hint of the Kinks in their pastoral prime to Joe Knapp's wistful vocals while the a capella breakdown channels the late-'60s Beach Boys." CMJ - "Joe Knapp showcases his singing and songwriting abilities in songs like 'Constellations,' where we find a desperately lonely voice and a guitar soft and unnerving." Mojo (Publisher) (p.108) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[F]leshed out like a proper band with newly minted '70s rock/Latin tropes to expand Knapp's 'American Pastels' trademark plaint." Clash (Magazine) (p.114) - "Opening track 'A Girl In New York City' mixes bossa nova with psychedelic harmonies....This album is a remarkably varied well-spring of musical talent."
