This two-for-one release, issued in Germany by the Yellow Label division of SPV, contains 1973's 3 + 3 and 1977's Go for Your Guns. Since most two-for-one CDs tend to feature albums released back to back, it's odd that this one goes a different route. The Isley Brothers released three albums between 3 + 3 and Go for Your Guns, but these two are indisputable classics, no random selections. "That Lady," "Summer Breeze," "The Highways of My Life," "Footsteps in the Dark," and "Voyage to Atlantis" are essential for any fan of '70s soul, and neither album has much fat. There are no bonus tracks here -- just the albums straight up. Both albums received multiple individual reissues, and they are preferable unless this can be scored for a considerably lower cost. ~ Andy Kellman
