Liner Note Author: Colin Escott. If one wants an introduction to Johnny Cash's early recordings on Sun Records, a beginner could do far worse than ORIGINAL GREATEST HITS. The distinctive blend of minimalist country and rockabilly that made Cash a star in the 1950s is represented here by such signature tunes as the existential plaint "Folsom Prison Blues" and the dramatic "I Walk the Line," as well as less iconic material and even a few rare alternate takes of Cash's '50s hits.
