インディー・スピリットに溢れるラフでロウなシンセ・サウンドでエレクトロ・シーンに衝撃を与えた、カナダはトロント出身の人気ユニット、クリスタル・キャッスルズがセカンド・アルバムを発表しました。ゴリゴリに攻めるシングル・トラック“Doe Deer”のほか、アリス嬢の耽美なヴォーカルがたまらない“Celstica”や“Suffocation”、実験性を爆発させた“Birds”(これがムチャクチャ格好良い！)と豊かなヴァラエティーが、アルバム全体としても巧くまとまっている印象。ノイジーでポップなサウンドメイキングも格段に向上していて、ディスコもパンクもシューゲイザーも絶妙にミックスされています。フィジェットとも絡んで引き続き活況を呈するエレクトロですが、この毒がまたいいスパイスとなることでしょう！
