Widely considered the preeminent vocal harmony group of the roots reggae era, Culture were also chief exponents of the spiritual and social themes associated with Rastafarianism. 本作はカルチャーが、1977年から1979年に“ジョー・ギブス”で録音した音源集で、収録曲全曲がオリジナル楽曲に、曲の後半からDJを加えたダブ・ミックスをつなげた、ロング・ミックス＝ディスコ・ミックス／ラバ・ダブ・ミックスとなっている貴重音源集。代表曲でありカルチャーの存在を世界に広めた「Two Sevens Clash」、また「Baldhead Bridge」等に、I・ロイ、ランキング・ジョー、プリンス・モハメッド( 後のジョージ・ヌークス)、クリント・イーストウッド、プリンス・ファー・アイ等の当時のトップDJ 達が参加している激レア音源ばかり。『マイティ・トゥー』と呼ばれた二人で、カルチャーと参加しているDJ達の歌と、バックを務めたスライ・ダンバーを中心としたプロフェッショナルズの演奏も聴きどころ。
