Danish trio Powersolo sounds as if the band took the 20th Century of recorded music, threw out all but the grittiest parts, and mixed that gristle all together in a cauldron just to see what might happen. On the outfit's third record, 2008's EGG, the result is a grimy, raunchy, glorious mess that veers from deep blues to garage-tinged rockabilly to brutal hip-hop with dazing speed. Jon Spencer makes a guest appearance, logically enough on the haunted "Aloha New York."
