Unlike other Celtic punk stalwarts, such as Flogging Molly and the Dropkick Murphys, who inject the Pogues' recipe with roaring guitars, the Tossers maintain those Irish punk godfathers' moshpit-friendly energy while foregrounding their traditional folk chops. The picking and fiddling is the thing here, as well as the glorious rag that is Tony Duggins' voice, which at times sounds like Shane MacGowan's yet with more coherent diction. LIVE ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY is as fun as it sounds, with the septet ripping through a live set of fifteen crowd faves on the rowdiest of holidays in their hometown of Chicago.
