1993年11月 MTVの番組用にニューヨークで収録された伝説のアコースティック･ライヴが、遂に待望の正規映像リリース！この時のライヴ音源はカート・コバーンの死後に初のCD作品としても選ばれ、1994年4月にリリースされた『MTV・アンプラグド・ニューヨーク』は各国で軒並みチャートの1位を記録、1995年度グラミー賞では“Best Alternative Music Performance”も獲得。もちろんこの時点から映像版のリリースを望む声は多く、今回のDVD化で、実に13年越しにファンの夢が実現することとなりました。仄暗いライティングに白い花といった涅槃（ニルヴァーナ）を思わせるセットの中、アコースティック・ギターやストリングスをバックに歌われる楽曲の数々からはメロディの美しさ、陰影に富むカートのヴォーカル、バンドのアンサンブル等、ニルヴァーナの本質的な魅力が見えてきます。ライヴではDavid Bowie、The Vaselines、Meat Puppets等、カートが愛したアーティストたちのカバーも披露。Meat Puppetsのメンバーはゲストとしても参加。ボーナスにはオリジナル放送ヴァージョンの他、初公開の貴重なリハーサル・テイク5曲、後年MTVで制作されたショウの検証番組「ベア・ウィットネス」等を収録！
