On this effort, however, his focus is primarily on the former. Although there are a handful of songs where the synthesizers take precedence (the eerie "Epitaph For A Dream"), Coates mostly sticks to the Al Bowlly-inspired trad jazz crooner side of his musical personality on tunes such as the lovely "I'll See You In My Dreams" and the dreamy "What It Takes." A perfect late-night listen, THE END OF THE WORLD is The Real Tuesday Weld's best effort so far.
