Buoyed by a new remix of "Oh L'Amour" and a bonus megamix CD, Hits! The Very Best of Erasure ups the ante from their previous best-of collection, 1992's Erasure Pop! The latter portion of the record contains arguably less exclamatory fare from their mid-to-late '90s records. However, standout tracks from that period like "Freedom" and "In My Arms," as well as the bulk of their Abba covers compilation and a rendition of Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill" serve as a nice complement to the set's first half, which is frontloaded with the usual '80s classics like "A Little Respect" and "Chains Of Love." ~ Kenneth Herzog|
