パブ・ロック界の天才、ニック・ロウがプロデュースしたエルヴィス・コステロの記念すべきデビュー・アルバム！パンク・ムーブメント真っ只中に発売されたアルバムで既に完成度の高いサウンドは必聴！コステロといえばやっぱこのジャケの印象が強いな。

グレイテスト・レコード！７７発売のデビュー作で、当時は「いい曲を書くパンク・ロッカー」というコピーだったらしいが、そういう次元を超える永遠の名盤だ。パンク、Ｒ＆Ｒ、ロカビリー、レゲエまで飲み込んだ英国人らしいソングライティング力が素晴らしく、そこに切れ味鋭い演奏、コステロのシャウトが加わればもう無敵。中音に集まった音像も素晴らしい。初めて聴いたときの衝撃の凄さ、保障します！

マイ・エイム・イズ・トゥルー＜紙ジャケット仕様盤＞｜CDアルバム
デビュー当時から際だっていたんですね。彼の出現でパンクの連中に歌詞の重要性を認識させてしまったと思う。今聴いても新鮮さを失うことはありません。
