After withstanding the trauma of Hurricane Katrina, and suffering a series of personal setbacks, Down came back with their first studio album in five years. The tribulations paid off, however, because OVER THE UNDER burns with a fiery conviction, and the band's channeling of classic hard rock (Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin) along with more contemporary alternative and metal is as refined and hard-hitting as ever. Opener "Three Suns and One Star," the thrashing "N.O.D.," and the churning surge of "Never Try" are among the album's highlights.

元Panteraのフィリップ・アンセルモ率いるストーナー・ロックの雄、Downの3rdアルバムが発売！これまで2枚のアルバムしかリリースしていないにも関わらず、既にヘヴィ・ミュージック・シーンにおいて重要なバンドに位置しているDown。約6年おきくらいにアルバムをリリースし、半伝説的、まさに神話的ともなっている彼らが本作を制作するために集まったのは2005年の事。しかしハリケーン、カトリーナがホームタウンであるニューオリンズを襲い、メンバーは何十ヶ月もの間離れ離れに引き裂くことに。そして再び集まった彼らはカトリーナの悲劇、そして友人ダイムバッグ・ダレルの早すぎる死など、共通の悲劇を耐え抜き、へヴィ・ロックの顔として君臨する彼らを決定づけるかのような傑作を作り上げた!!
