On its second full-length album, MAKE IT BLUR, the Chicago-based emo band June offers up a highly accessible outing of punk-pop tunes. Like fellow Chi-towners Fall Out Boy and other successful breakout emo acts, the quartet has expanded its sonic palette beyond the standard guitar/bass/drums configuration, allowing for plaintive, piano-tinged ballads ("I'd Lose Myself") that contrast nicely with its heavier, upbeat songs (see the punchy "Swallowed").
