Superb acoustic guitarwork weaves a path throughout the bewitching melodies, enhancing the singer's spell, although Cohen's self-deprecating humour is equally prevalent, particularly on the singalong 'Tonight Will Be Fine'. Songs From A Room captures every facet of Cohen's inestimable talent.

自国での人生に疲れ異国への誘いに憑かれた西洋人は、ギリシアに行く派（バイロン、ヘンリー・ミラー等）とインドに行く派（フォースター、エリアーデ等）とアフリカに行く派（ランボー、モラヴィア等）に分かれるらしい。レナード・コーエンはギリシア派だ（ヒドラ島に７年ほど居住）。安易な類型化に大した意味はないが、コーエンにとってのギリシアを考えてみるのは３ヶ月くらいの暇つぶしにはなる。ところで、あなたは何派？
