カナダ生まれの注目チェンバリストによる、抒情的かつ色彩的な「平均律」。ナクソスではフォルクレのクラブサン組曲集第2集＜8.553717＞で名演を聴かせていますが、あまりにも有名なこの曲で演奏家としての存在感をさらに高めることでしょう。

バッハの記念碑的な作品「平均律クラヴィーア組曲」は、全24調に基づく前奏曲とフーガであり、このような野心的な作品を可能にした新方式のハープシコード調律法を利用したものです。ピアニストにとっては、新約聖書とされるベートーヴェンのソナタと双璧として、旧約聖書とも称せられています。このCDでは、バッハが演奏を想定したと思われる鍵盤楽器ハープシコードで演奏されています。　［コメント提供；（株）アイヴィ］
