Pole (Stefan Betke): Stefan Betke. The Berlin-based producer and remixer uses the static and glitches produced by a malfunctioning electronic filter as the backdrop for much of his minimalist IDM, as well as a compositional sense that keeps his skeletal, almost hypnotic music an absorbing listen. Random sirens sound, and various other noisemakers make their appearances and then exit, as in the more eccentric work of some of his greatest inspirations, including King Tubby and Augustus Pablo.
