On her 2006 album, CARNIVAL, Australian alt-country performer Kasey Chambers pushes her sound in a more pop-oriented direction, as evidenced by the breezy lead single, "Nothing at All." Despite the disc's relatively accessible arrangements, Chambers's delicate though surprisingly edgy voice never fails to shine through, most notably on the atmospheric rock tune "Colour of a Carnival," making for a record that reveals its subtleties on repeated listens.
