For his inventive 2006 sci-fi thriller, A SCANNER DARKLY, director Richard Linklater enlisted Austin, Texas-based multi-instrumentalist Graham Reynolds to create the film's moody score. Tense, string-laden pieces such as "Aphids" and "Part of the Plan" sagely nod to revered composer Bernard Herrmann. The album concludes with tracks by electronica artists Jack Dangers ("Darkly") and DJ Spooky ("Call Sign/Aleph"), which effectively add to the movie's uneasy, futurist atmosphere.
