Combining four new tracks with songs from the French electronica act's previous releases, Rinocerose's 2006 self-titled outing serves as a nice 101 course for the ensemble. While Rinocerose is clearly at home with buoyant house tunes ("Lost Love," "Le Triangle"), it also excels at guitar-driven techno (as best exemplified by the surging "Cubicle," prominently featured in an iPod ad) and chill-out bossa nova (the light, lilting "Me Vacances a Rio"). The Gallic group also reveals a penchant for funk on the saucy "Bitch" and "My Demons," which, oddly enough, includes vocals by former Ride member Mark Gardener. More dynamic than any of Rinocerose's prior offerings, this disc works as an excellent sampler of the band's charms and as a solid, self-contained release in its own right. ~ Eric Schneider|

かなり前にアンダーワールドのライヴでのサポート・アクトが話題を呼んでいたフランスのダンス・ユニット。最近TVCMで“Cubicle”が使用されたことで人気が再燃し、それを受けて新作『Schizophonia』も出たばっかですが、それに続いてこのベスト盤も出ちゃいました。CMで気になった人も本作から聴けば入りやすいでしょう。アンダーワールドをもっとロック寄りにしたようなサウンドは誰でも単純に盛り上がれますよ。
