It's no secret that one of the leading dance music labels since the mid-'90s has been Global Underground. And in celebration of their ten-year anniversary of their first release, a three-disc mix of label highlights from throughout the decade has been assembled, 2006's Global Underground 10. The first two discs focus on Global Underground's most renowned artists and/or mixes, such as Underworld's "Two Months Off," Fatboy Slim's "Sunset (Bird of Prey)," an UNKLE remix of Ian Brown's "F.E.A.R.," and countless others. But the real attraction for longtime Global Underground fans is the third disc, which collects forgotten dance tracks from just before the label's launch, which serve as a guiding light for the sound and approach the label would soon follow. Included in the set is a booklet that includes artist memories about the label and also by fans throughout the world. ~ Greg Prato
