Released more than 40 years into the group's existence, this 2006 Nitty Gritty Dirt Band collection presents 18 tracks by the venerable Los Angeles-based country-rock ensemble. While the disc draws heavily from the act's lauded WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN series, including a rootsy version of the traditional title track, the collection also features hits such as "Mr. Bojangles" (penned by Jerry Jeff Walker) and "Some of Shelly's Blues" (written by former Monkee Michael Nesmith). For those unfamiliar, this is a nice sampling and a solid place to start exploring. Still, the first volume of WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN really can't be beat.
