Though this effort is undesirably brief -- only six cuts long, it is a highlight of Lucas' output. Opening with the mid-tempo groover "Danceland" followed by the melancholy ballad "Sometimes a Love Goes Wrong," the core of the set is actually bona fide disco with an impressive amount of live instrumentation. The perennial dancefloor favorite "Dance With You" is the surefire standout, offering an irresistible concoction of funky guitars, swinging strings, a groovy organ, and one of Lucas' best vocal performances. With labelmates Lakeside performing the song's primary refrains, not to mention female support from Shelly Clark and Jody Watley (also a labelmate at the time), it is undoubtedly one of disco's shining moments. "Sometimes a Love Goes Wrong" is runner-up in quality -- its melodic simplicity and endearing arrangement are classic. ~ Justin M. Kantor
