Composer/ex-Art of Noise-maker Anne Dudley (American History X, The Crying Game) takes on the brutal world of medieval teenage love for director Kevin Reynolds' big-screen adaptation of the legend of Tristan and Isolde. Dudley forgoes the bombast of Wagner's beloved opera and infuses the tragic love story with enough predictable Hollywood adventure cues to placate the average filmgoer, while maintaining enough historical acumen (Celtic harp, flutes, fiddles) to satisfy hungry English majors who like a little romance with their Braveheart. リドリー・スコット・プロデュースの歴史恋愛劇！ 音楽は、アン・ダドリー！！ 『トリスタンとイゾルデ』（２００６） サウンドトラック 音楽　アン・ダドリー 監督　ケヴィン・レイノルズ 主演　ジェームズ・フランコ、ソフィア・マイルズ ワーグナーの歌劇でも有名な中世の恋物語を、 最近史劇づく巨匠リドリー・スコットが今回は プロデュースに回り、監督はなんとケヴィン・レイノルズ が務める。音楽は、アート・オブ・ノイズのメンバー でもある美しき女性作曲家アン・ダドリーが、 おそらくスコット組とは、意外にも初のタッグ。 しかし『ラスト・キングダム』のようなコスプレものの 傑作がある彼女の作風は、今回のようなロマンティック で様式美な世界にもぴったりかも。勇ましいサウンド ではなく、幻想的で美しいサウンドが、ストリングスと ピアノを中心に展開。ちょっとトーマス・ニューマンの 幻想性も想いださせる。美しいオーケストラものの ファンにおすすめ。 (C)馬場敏裕
