The pre-eminent traditional Irish band, Dervish has been playing and touring for over a decade, lighting up stages from Malaysia to Rio with their energetic folk sound. Cathy Jordan's crystalline vocals and charismatic stage presence perfectly complement the band, which is comprised of mandola (Brian McDonagh); Flute and whistles (Liam Kelly); fiddle (Tom Morrow); accordion (Shane Mitchell) and bouzouki (Michael Holmes). The band--whose name refers to a poor but spiritual group who becomes enraptured with music--flits from one mood to the next with an inventiveness and chemistry that is palpable and infectious.
