Originally released in 1976, MACULA TRANSFER is a set of soundscapes crafted in typical Edgar Froese fashion. Like much of his work with the pioneering electronica outfit Tangerine Dream, Froese's MACULA TRANSFER revolves around shifting synthesizer planes augmented by electric guitar. The titles of the songs are named after the airline flights on which Froese composed the pieces, and the album has the floating, ambient feel of a trip through the clouds. The album was remastered and reissued in 2006, and sounds fresh even amid the new world of electronic music that Froese helped prefigure.|
