Editors: Joel Chin; Paul Shields. This entry in the long running reggae dance series focuses on subtlety and slow jams, starting with the conscious rhythms of Jah Cure's "True Reflection" and Gyption's "Serious Times," and builds steadily with the revived "Armagideon Time" rhythm of Anthony Cruz's "Inna Dance." Junior Kelly's eccentric vocal stylings carry the lovers rock of "Receive," and Mr. Vegas's dancehall reworking of Stevie Wonder's "I Don't Know Why I Love You" is a groove highlight, while the veteran singer Marcia Griffiths makes a welcome contribution to the carefree "Focusing Time."

コンピ〈Strictly〉が今年も到着。〈DJ編〉ではエレファント・マンやアサシンなどお祭りヤローどもがガッツリ上げてくれ、〈シンガー編〉ではジャー・キュアやジプシャンがじんわり聴かせてくれます。なかでも後者にはラスタ系シンガーが大挙していて、とっても今年っぽい仕上がりに。どちらも甲乙つけがたいので、こりゃ2枚ゲットしてその日の気分で聴き分けるしかないね。説明不要、例年どおり間違いないチョイスです。

Strictly The Best Vol.34｜CDアルバム
この2005年版Strictly The BestはDeejay編、Singer編ともかなり素晴らしい。
こちらはSinger編だが、Jah Cureによる①、Gyptianによる②から感涙。
Jr.Kellyの⑥やTurbulenceの⑯も2005年の代表的なミディアムナンバーだろう。
MarciaとBeresによる⑬やMorgan Heritageの⑮を収録にも泣き。
