Travis's fourth official album (not counting an early independent label live release) is another winner in the same beautifully produced neo-traditionalist vein as ALWAYS AND FOREVER, and OLD 8X10, with a similar mixture of cry in your beer weepers (the wrenching "He Walked On Water"), I'll-love-you-forever songs ("Mining For Coal") and neo-honkky-tonkers ("Card Carrying Fool"), all sung with Travis's patented George Jones derived clench-jawed soul. Highlights include two excellent oldies, a deeply felt remake of Brooke Benton's 1958 r&b ballad "It's Just a Matter of Time," and a spry runthrough of Marty Robbin's 1956 hit "Singing the Blues,":rendered here by Travis in a more traditional country style than the original.
